Kune Kune Pig
Origin: New Zealand

Latin Name: Sus scrofa domesticus

Habitat: Captive bred on agricultural holdings

Diet: Grass and concentrate feed.

Lifespan: Up to 20 years

Average Size: Weight: Up to 80 kg, Length: Up to 60 cm

Characteristics:

Known for being very placid and intelligent, the Kune Kune pigs have distinctive characteristics such as a small stature, short legs and concave face.  They come in a variety of colours ranging from black and white to ginger.  The native Maori people of New Zealand adopted the word Kune Kune which means “fat and round” in the Maori language.
