Greenwing Macaw
Origin: South and Central America

Habitat: Tropical forests mangrove swamps and savannas

Diet: Seeds, nuts, fruit and vegetables.

Lifespan: Up to 65 years

Average Size: Length:90cm, Weight: 1.2 kgs

Characteristics:

Large macaw also known as the red and green macaw.  They have a rich deep red colour from its head down through the upper mantle of the back wings and tail.  Along the lower back and wings is a band of green, with a light blue colouring on its rump and lower tail.  It is the second largest parrot in the world, send only to the Hyacinth Macaw.
