Ardmore Open Farm and Mini Zoo is located just minutes from the sea side village of Ardmore in Co. Waterford. Set on c.22 acres and overlooking Whiting Bay, it opened in 2013 and has quickly become one of the main family attractions in the South East. The facility has grown and developed in the short time since opening and has proved a huge hit with both locals and tourists alike.
The granting of a Zoo licence in 2015 enabled Ardmore Open Farm to upgrade to a Mini Zoo. A new line of small exotic animals and reptiles were added in 2016 to go with a wide variety of rare and diverse range of all the farm favourites. Miniature goats to mammoth donkeys and marmoset monkeys to rare owls are just some of the range of animals on show. In 2016 the farm and mini zoo was accepted as a preliminary member of BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums) making it only one of eight facilities nationwide to receive such a sought-after accreditation.
Ardmore Open Farm and Mini Zoo is not just about animals as it has a full range of activities for all ages. Endless hours of fun can be spent on the playground, three-tier indoor play centre, go kart track, soccer pitch, maze and much more. Full restaurant facilities are available with a wide variety of hot meals, wines and home baked goods on offer.
School tours, birthday parties and all significant events are catered for. No matter what the weather a fun-filled day is guaranteed at Ardmore Open Farm and Mini Zoo.
